COMPETITION
SYSTEM
· Eight of the twelve participating teams are paired in a first knock-out round (the remaining four ones are given a bye). The winners advance to a second knock-out round, whereas the eight losers of these first and second rounds play a Consolation Series for places 5-12. · The four winners after the second round advance to the semifinals, and the two surviving teams after this round qualify for the final (the two semifinal losers play a consolation final for the bronze medal). |
