(x) All Russian clubs were banned from the 2023-24 UEFA competitions due to the country’s aggresion on Ukraine. As a result, Russia will be assigned with the lowest amount of coefficient points they have earned over the last five seasons (4.333) upon completion of the 2023-24 European season.

 

The points assigned to each country at the end of a season are the average of the points earned by all its teams during that season. The sum of five consecutive seasons represents the UEFA Country Ranking (UCR) at the end of that period. This ranking determines the number of berths assigned to each country in Champions League (C1), Europa League (C3) and Conference League (C5) corresponding to the second season after the one that closes the 5-year period, so that all the countries know at the beginning of their domestic championships how many berths in C1 and C3 will they have for the next season.

 

KEYS TO THE CALCULATION OF UCR:

· 2 pts. per victory / 1 pt. per draw (these points are halved, however, during the qualification rounds of C1 and C3 before the Group Stage).

· 1 bonus point for reaching each of the final rounds of C1 and C3 (1/4 Final, 1/2 Final and Final).

· 4 bonus points for reaching the Champions League phase (Group Stage) of C1.

· 5 bonus points for reaching the First Knock-Out Round of C1.

 

*NOTE: The number of berths systematically assigned by UCR for a specific season may undergo further modifications in the case of some countries, depending on different circumstances. The new states joining UEFA after the last season of the 5-year period above are not included in the ranking.
