Hvidovre IF - Real Madrid CF

FIRST LEG

Hvidovre IF - Real Madrid CF

2-2 (1-1)

STADIUM: Parken (København)

DATE: 15-11-1967 (19:00 h)

Attendance: 50.000

Referee: Rudolf Glöckner (GDR)

Goals: 1-0 (Hansen 25'); 1-1 (Gento 40'); 1-2 (Pirri 46'); 2-2 (C. Petersen 73')

[Incidents: In the second Danish goal there was a curious circumstance: Rudolf Glöckner called a foul forty meters from the Spanish goal. Real Madrid goalkeeper Junquera thought it was an indirect free kick, as he saw the referee with an upraised arm, and for that reason he didn’t even ordered a wall of players in front of him. The Danish midfielder Claus Petersen shot to goal and Junquera calmly let the ball pass through, but to his surprise the referee validated the goal. Among furious Spanish protests, the referee argued that his upraised arm was just to indicate the linesman where he should be positioned.]

TJ Sparta ČKD Praha - Real Madrid CF

2-1 (2-0)

STADIUM: Edenu (Praha)

DATE: 20-03-1968 (15:00 h)

Attendance: 40.431

Referee: Hans Radermacher (FRG)

Goals: 1-0 (Kvašňák 36'); 2-0 (Dyba 45+'); 2-1 (Gento 57')

[Incidents: The game was played at Slavia Praha's stadium because Sparta's Letná was undergoing major construction works. Amancio was sent off (min. 45+) after discussing with the referee the validity of Sparta's second goal, made in injury time. The referee had called a foul and Mašek quickly passed the ball to Dyba, who apparently was in an offside position while the Spanish defenders remained motionless. During the discussion, the crowd yelled "the 8, the 8!," and the referee sent Amancio off.]
