LEGEND & NOTES

The ranking above (Pt.) is FIBA official, although the following remarks are my own personal guessing about how they were calculated based on the individual points assigned to each federation's clubs:

 

—: No berth assigned to a country (no computable for the final ranking coefficient).

 

+: Berth originally assigned to a country, but no participant due to low ranking of the federation (computable for the final ranking coefficient).

 

#: Berth assigned to a country but not used due to withdrawal, ban, opting out or any other reason (computable for the final ranking coefficient).

 

B: Berths assigned to a federation by ranking, although not all of them may be used (it includes “+” and “#”).

 

Note: Whenever a country is in a situation of “+” or “#”, it receives a penalty over its total points, which applies as follows: the points earned by all the country’s clubs are multiplied by the number of non participating/withdrawing teams, and the result is divided by the total number of assigned berths (B); this number (rounded in millesimals) is then substracted from the total points to determine the ranking after penalty. For example:

RUSSIA:  18 pt. (C1) + 24 pt. (C2) + 12 pt. (C2) + 2 pt. (C3) + 1.5 pt. (C3) + 1.5 pt. (C3) + 0 pt. (C3: with.) = 59 pt.

penalty = 59 x 1 / 7 = 8.429 pt.

                final points = 59 - 8.429 = 50.571 pt.
