Gregorio “Goyo” Estrada Cobeña (C) (16-09-1951) COACH: Manel Comas Hortet (29-11-1945) * Galvin, who was Joventut’s hero in the 1981 Korać Cup final, was supposed
to be the club’s only foreign player for the 1981-82
season. However, after contracting a mysterious
disease and having very poor performances in the
pre-season games, Joventut signed up a new foreign
player (Housey) and kept Galvin only for the European
competition. Later, when the Spanish club wanted
to negotiate a reduction in his salary, Galvin
sued Joventut. Finally, the player left Badalona
on 12-12-1981 and returned to the US. ** Comas resigned on 18-12-1981 and was replaced by his assistant coach,
Joaquim Costa. |
