Basketball Champions League is a new tournament launched by FIBA Europe in the summer of 2016 as a competitor of ULEB's top-tier Euroleague. As its name shows, it is intended as a correlate of UEFA's Champions League. Similarly to the football competition, successive qualifying rounds lead to a league stage (Regular Season) and teams receive economic awards depending on their progress.
